Like Bad Pizza, Brandi Hawbaker is Back in the News

It's about time we check in on something that shouldn't be much of a surprise for people who follow poker gossip: Brandi Hawbaker's back in the news again.

This time it's for finding yet another sucker, if one can believe said sucker's account, as expressed in this quickly-epic thread over at 2+2. (The 'sucker' in question is purportedly a well-known poker dealer named Brandon who befriended Brandi 'on the bounce' from one of her other 'crash and burn' relationships.) Special thanks also to the WCP boys for duly jumping on the ball and highlighting the biggest sources for the latest crudfest. This is a good sleazy tale, indeed.

Truth be told, back in the 'Captain Tom' days I once believed something that Brandi wrote in one of her tales. These days, I believe nothing; the cumulative evidence suggests that she's one of the most pathological sorts the poker world has seen in quite some time. That's saying something, y'know.

Still, one wonders just how 2+2 can be so blithely infested with what seems at times to be 10,000 idiots who just don't know how to find out things for themselves. Hence, this small contribution to the wonder that is Brandi, who is accused of having quite an extensive record for being thrown out of casinos, prostitution, and so on. One of the more news-oriented posters on 2+2, who uses the handle 'MiltonFriedman', did a quick search on Brandi's name in Clark County (Las Vegas), NV records and found no matches. To which I thought, 'Duh, she's not from there anyway.'

She's also, it seems, not 25, as perhaps claimed by her or those who have been posting about her in these threads. From a follow-up by the original poster:

"Brandi and I got engaged last night on her 25th birthday after having a beautiful dinner with our friends."

Oh, really? Fortunately, there are a few sites on the Web where one can scrape up a glimmer of fact about one's name, previous residences, and age. I could spend $50 for the complete criminal and credit report, but I have to be honest --- that's about $50 more than I would voluntarily spend on the likes of Brandi Hawbaker.
