Zeeja Vu: A Justin Bonomo Appearance for Real, and Other Odds 'n' Ends

Yes, your faithful blogger screwed it up a couple of weeks ago when we announced that "ZeeJustin" (Justin Bonomo) would be appearing on the debut episode of Lou Krieger's webcast show, "Keep Flopping Aces," over at Hold'em Radio. To make a long story short, the wires got crossed, and the blame lies here.

That's the bad news.

The good news is that Bonomo will be on the second episode of the show for real, on Thursday, April 27th, and you can verify the info over on Lou's own blog. So there. The show airs at 9E / 8C / 7M / 6P --- pick your poi-zone. If you have questions for Bonomo, get there about ten minutes early, so you can register for the chat room and be ready for the start of the program. I'll be in the chat room, too, trying to think up good questions of my own.

Poker777 has a cheesy reprinting of a canned press release from 888/Pacific Poker, proclaiming how Pacific at long last offers multi-table gaming (up to five tables at once). Next from Pacific: indoor plumbing... at least in the virtual sense. Ba-dum-dum. And since it's "Pick on Po' Pacific" time, let's give them this month's award for worst use of an out-of-context statistic, as excerpted from the same press release:

"[The multi-tabling enhancement] should help up the already intense action at Pacific Poker, a site that boasts a 60% rate of players seeing the flop. This comparably high "flop seen" statistic means that Pacific Poker can offer a more riveting level of online poker play."

You can "boast" it all you want, Pacific. Can you back it up with any sort of real-world facts-'n'-figures that show that this "60%" covers anything more than a handful of micro-limit tables? Playing Omaha? With play money, perhaps???

I'll be riveted right here, waiting for the answer.

BetFair Poker just crowned their "BetFair Poker Goddess," as 30-year-old Angela Thacker of Halifax, conquered 29 other woman players to win the title and a free ride to the WSOP. That said, it's a shame that the runnerup, Vera Duffy, didn't take the prize --- she's a 61-year-old grandmother from Dublin who prefers mixing it up with the men, certainly "Poker Goddess" material. Cindy Margolis who???
