It's been a while since we've seen anything seriously whacked run across the face of the poker world. But, in a story first encountered in a Dan Druff post over at NeverWin Poker, it seems that new poker hottie Brandi Hawbaker --- she of the too-tight halter top at a recent high-profile tourney --- has reported in a post on 2+2 that she was ummm, what... molested?... assaulted?... or something... by Captain Tom Franklin in one of the strangest tales the poker world has seen in a long time. [Photo at right --- Brandi Hawbaker's 2+2 forum icon.]The missive by Hawbaker --- assuming the poster is her, and it does seem to be --- just has to be the one of the most bizarre things ever. Here are some of the highlights from the post, which has generated 80 pages of follow-up comments in less than a day:
... The next night, he crawled into bed with me naked. His penis on my back, frighten me, and woke me in the middle of the night. I freaked out and spent the rest of the night in the bathroom. I crawled to sleep on the floor and used the towels as blankets. I was traumatized....
... Every day he started having talks with me at breakfast/lunch.. how he was doing so much for me and that I needed to do something for him. He said at that time that I could not have my money back and that I had to "huggle" with him. In all honesty, I tried. I grit my teeth and let him put his arms around me one night....
... She [a woman named Amanda] talked about how he makes her skin crawl and that she has turned into an alcoholic and that she dropped out of school and is now taking care of her mom and dad with the little money that Tom is giving her to have sex with him....
... Anyway ~ we all ended up sharing a room that first night in Foxwoods because the casino was booked. My friend and I slept in one bed. Tom and his "daughter" [Amanda] as he claims her to be ~ slept in the other. Tom was in a very bad mood because he was not getting laid....
... "What are you doing talking to people about this? Why do you think I am a bad guy? If I were a really bad guy, I would have raped you that night when I had the chance!" [as reportedly spoken by Franklin]....
... I even tried to OD there and someone put their finger down my throat until I was able to throw everything up....

Oh, such a tale, with cameo appereances from poker luminaries including Phil Gordon, Doyle and Todd Brunson, and let's not forget Hawbaker herself, rumored to have been playing WPT events with a $12,000 bankroll. Lol-aments on that, if true.
With absolutely no comment as to the ultimate veracity of the tale, one can only picture Tom Franklin climbing on top of Brandi Hawbaker's back and rubbing his penis against her. And that's a whole new definition of "angle shooter" I could have gone the rest of my life without encountering, thank you very much.
