More Pretty Faces: "Playboy's Women of Poker" Series Announced

Awright, guys, here's one for you. Per an announcement from Playboy's Alta Loma Entertainment and the Players Network, a news series featuring --- you guessed it, beautiful women playing poker --- will be going into production into the near future. As the release states, the series "will feature beautiful women competing to become members of Playboy's Poker Team and win all the perks that go along with it, including the potential of appearing in a Playboy Magazine pictorial."

Aspiring poker-playing-model types are duly encouraged to register on the Players Network home page, where they can participate in one of five regional qualifying tourneys and, yes, do a test photo shoot. (Clothing optional, one surmises.) Image source: Players Network

Nor should the Playmate wannabes worry too much about the subtleties of playing second-hand-low to trap that aggro player in the cutoff. After all, the Playboy Poker Team will be comprised of "the six women who accumulate the most points through their poker and modeling skills at the final event..." (emphasis mine).

Lisa Dergan, where are you? Too bad the hostess of Game Show Network's "Poker Royale" series remains otherwise occupied. As All In's feature story on Dergan, back in the 2005 Holiday "Raymer" issue, told us, "The new sideline reporter for GSN's Poker Royale series is not just 'another pretty face.'" Of course, the story's kicker was that Dergan was an exceptionally pretty face, rather than an ordinary pretty one, though any poker knowledge or skills on Dergan's part seems to have been a non-factor in the hiring decision at GSN. After all, Dergen's previous experience with the game was knowing that it had something to do with cards and chips.

That should be sufficient for the Playboy Poker Team as well. Off you go, now --- Liz Lieu-style centerfelt poses await.
